Description
The winning bidder will receive a 2.5 hour rental for 4 people - either standup paddleboard or kayak - at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center.
Must be 18 years or older to redeem gift certificate. Minors can use the equipment rented, but must be supervised by someone at least 18 years of age.
Must use by 05/2026.
Stand up Paddble board info:
We offer SurfTech Universals and NSP Cruisers for rent, along with an adjustable paddle. Our current fleet has a range of sizes from 10'2" to 11'6". We provide comfortable PFD belt packs for renters 18 years and older to wear while paddling. The first time that you paddleboard at MBAC we will provide a brief orientation how to use the equipment properly and where it is stored. We have over 70 boards and we do NOT take reservations.
Paddleboard Rental Policies:
You must be at least 18 years of age to rent equipment and willing to take financial and legal responsibility for the equipment you are renting (no more than 5 rentals per adult). Minors can use the equipment rented, but must be supervised by someone at least 18 years of age.
All equipment must be returned within 2.5 hours or ½ hour before closing—whichever comes first.
You must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at ALL TIMES. We have PFD belt packs for paddleboarders at least 18 years of age or lifejackets for paddleboarders under 18 years of age.
You must be at least 10 years old and 65 pounds to paddle your own paddleboard.
Children under 10 years of age or 65 pounds are allowed to ride on a stand up paddleboard with someone who meets the age and weight requirements.
Rentals are self service, meaning that customers are expected to set up, rinse, and put away their own equipment.
You are not allowed to go under any bridges.
No animals or alcohol allowed on equipment. Those suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to use equipment.
Commercial activity is prohibited on rental equipment.
The most a single renter can rent at a time is 5 pieces of equipment.
Info on Kayaks:
We offer sit-on-top single and double kayaks as well as sit-inside sea kayaks. In order to rent our sit-inside sea kayaks you must be checked off by either completing the prerequisite class at MBAC or complete a 2-hour orientation/check-off if you have previous sea kayaking experience. We have a large number of kayaks and we do NOT take reservations.

About the Center:
Mission Bay Aquatic Center is one of the world's largest instructional waterfront facilities located in beautiful San Diego, California. Last year over 30,000 participants experienced surfing, sailing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, stand up paddling, waterskiing, kayaking, and windsurfing. Tens of thousands of people have learned to safely enjoy watersports at MBAC over the past 45 years.
Mission Bay Aquatic Center is owned and operated by Associated Students of San Diego State University and UCSD Recreation and is open to the public. The aquatic center is home to The Watersports Camp, a youth day camp for kids ages 6-17 sponsored by the YMCA of San Diego County.
MBAC is recognized as a model for safe watersports education and operations and is the regional boating safety center for the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways. As a LEED Platinum Certified Facility the center is commited to fostering a culture of sustainability and protecting the marine environment.
Special Instructions
Local pickup time is Friday, May 9 from 12 - 1:30pm at the front entrance of La Costa Heights Elementary (3035 Levante St, 92009).
