Description

This beautiful set of two 8"x10" prints finds a star constellation within a vegetable! Generously donated by local Moab artist Katrina Lund.

“Beetes By Night” is inspired by the Boötes constellation. He is a herder with dogs who is always chasing the bears, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, across the night sky. This is an easy way to tell which way the stars rotate around Polaris. Following the curve of the handle of the Big Dipper, you can “arc to Arcturus,” the brightest star in Boötes.

"I love to illustrate two ideas that don’t normally go together, with the intention of bringing a smile to people’s faces." Katrina Lund is a Moab-based, mostly self-taught artist who works in many mediums, but her favorite is pen & ink combined with watercolors. In addition to being a talented artist, she is a skilled teacher. She was 2015 Moab Community Artist in the Parks.
