Description
Attention all cinephiles:
Step back in time to when the 1920s were still roaring and the Music Box Theatre first opened (just two months before The Great Depression) on August 22, 1929. It was a time before fluorescent lighting, megaplexes, and artificial butter. And although our ticket prices have changed slightly over the past 95 years, the butter on our popcorn is still real.
For the last four decades, the Music Box Theatre has been the premiere venue in Chicago for independent and foreign films. It currently has the largest theater space operated full time in the city.
The Music Box Theatre is independently owned and operated by the Southport Music Box Corporation. SMBC, through its Music Box Films division, also distributes foreign and independent films in the theatrical, DVD, and television markets throughout the United States.
It's Chicago's go-to venue for independent, foreign, cult, and classic films.
Special Instructions
Certificates good for admission for 2 for any regular screening, plus one free popcorn pass, and one free soda pass.
Passes not valid for special events. Expires 3/17/26.
