Your Wooden Expression birdhouse, constructed using MDO (medium density overlay) and 16 ounce roofing copper, is fully functional and built to stay outside year round. It is suggested that nesting material be removed in the fall. Copper naturally begins to tarnish when exposed to air. This will eventually lead to a beautiful teal green patina. If you prefer to keep the copper's "new penny" look, spray with one of many commercially available sealers such as Incralac Spray.
