Artist Jodi Maas was born in Manhattan, Kansas. She lived in Hong Kong for 5 years and was able to experience the diverse and fascinating beauty of many exotic cultures including India, Nepal, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines. After extensive travels she now calls Arizona home. Maas graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has been working as an artist for over 20 years. The subtle, rich layering and depth in her work are an invitation into a soft ethereal mystique. Her dramatic yet tranquil essence guides spirit up to realms of new expansion. Spontaneous and unexpected details delight and entertain. Jodi is always gathering compelling inspiration for her paintings. 'I want my paintings to express a deep sense of self as the whole,' explains the artist. 'I am at peace when I paint.'
