Meet Val, talking about her Tea Shop...
Val was my Mum, and the creation of this Tea Shop is as much for her as it is for me. A Londoner all her life, Val centered her comings and goings around her family, work, keeping a spotlessly clean home, and TEA. Strong tea, always in a cup and saucer, with just a spot of milk and no sugar. No fancy herbal teas, just good black tea, steeped well and served boiling hot.

Her Mum was my rock, my Go-To person, and when she passed suddenly in December 2019, my whole world crumbled for a while.  We had talked often about my opening an English Tea Shop here in Rhode Island and she always encouraged me to "take the plunge", followed by "if you don't try, you'll never know". So, here she is, taking the plunge into what she loves doing the most - baking, feeding people, and paying as much attention to detail as she possibly can.

She has decades of experience in the planning, preparing, and hosting of Afternoon Teas.  It's something I have always done, and it's time for me to share my passion and my culture with you.

She knows she is with me. In every pot of tea brewed, every sandwich made and every Bakewell Tart baked.
