Rob Richards, owner of AC Jewelers in Smithfield, Rhode Island, has been in the jewelry business for over 30 years. The “AC” stands for his two sons, Anthony and Christopher.

Rob started in the jewelry business as a young teen. His mother’s next-door neighbor was a diamond setter, and he would go over and watch him set stones. He became very interested in this skilled trade and asked to learn more. By the age of 18, he was working full time there. Some years later, he opened a shop of his own with a partner from someone he went to high school with.
