A little bit about the artist:

Marjorie Jean Kirkland was influenced at an early age by her grandmother, who was a miniature maker and watercolor artist.  Her grandmother’s father, Ray Snow, was a cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Times and the original illustrator for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.  His wife, Elizabeth Burd, was a landscape artist. Marjorie’s mother is a retired art teacher who resides in New Zealand. Obviously, art runs through her veins!

In 2000, Marjorie decided to go college to study art, photography, and design at UCOL in Palmerston North New Zealand. For years she has taken workshops and classes with Nan Cunningham and Carol Barksdale.  She is now whole-heartedly producing artwork as not only a personal passion but also something she can do for people that have a love and appreciation for art.
