Artists' Plate by Walter Martin & Paloma Muñoz Limited Edition 430/500.

Walter Martin & Paloma Muñoz are best known for their sculptures and photographs contrasting pristine settings with foreboding scenes and dark humor.  They explore the human condition, dystopias and alienation, focusing on the multiple narratives at work in a single, captured moment. 

Martin and Muñoz create the figures, either adapting ready-made figurines or shaping them out of clay. Martin constructs the environments by painting and positioning the figures within.   Muñoz then captures the final compositions in photographs that are meticulously stitched and adjusted digitally for the final effect.  A few of the artists' photographs have been transposed onto limited edition plates, including the one here, of a tiny figure amidst masive ghostly trees in the winter.
