The Ranger Station Cottage and Location
The Ranger Station is a 2-bedroom cottage (where park rangers used to live) with a side deck and porch located in Smallwood, NY, about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Green Meadow. The cottage is located in a cabin community near Monticello, and is a short walk or 1 min drive to the community lake, which is great for swimming, canoeing, and walking/running/biking around. The cabin is a 2 minute drive the local community center with tennis/pickle ball, basketball courts, and community events, and 2 minutes drive from the Smallwood Forest Preserve with wild blueberry picking, great hikes, playground, dog run, and a waterfall. 10 minutes away is larger lake for swimming. Many charming Catskill towns are also nearby [e.g. Narrowsburg (15 min), Calicoon (15 min), Livingston Manor (30 min)]. The cottage is ~5 minutes drive from historic Bethel Woods, where Woodstock took place, where they have an active schedule of concerts all summer long (already listing Neil Young, Bonnie Rait, Steve Miller Band, the Offspring for August).
