Chris Newman is an experienced sculptor who works with metal to create large-scale outdoor pieces that can be seen around the city and suburbs. He also teaches at the Bridgeport Arts Center and has generously donated a certificate for two people to attend a metal-sculpture class.

The 3-hour class provides an opportunity for the students to create a hand-held sculpture that they form from three pieces of either steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. Students will be introduced to three different methods of welding with the help and guidance of Chris.
