Description

In his own words Michael Bridges is “a ceramic artist whose work focuses on creating utilitarian objects that take inspiration from adolescent memories of growing up in rural Alabama. Some pieces reference the joys of exploring nature as a child—Owls, Opossums, Frogs etc.—while other imagery is drawn from my love for Horror and Science Fiction films. Both are equally important to me and ultimately create a unique language of intuitively chosen imagery.

When I first pulled this donation out of the box I saw the little red house in the corner and thought, "oh, what a cute abstract idyllic family scene...such an adorable platter". Then I noticed the teeth and began to feel something a little darker creeping in.

This is indeed an incredibly detailed platter! Colorful, sturdy, 11" x 11", definitely eye-catching.  But the teeth...

Needless to say this platter will not be for everyone; but to those of you, like me, who embrace the darker side...I sense a bidding war coming on.
