Description

Michael Swierz, is a Chicago-based ceramicist, interdisciplinary artist, and poet whose practice weaves together poetry, visual art, earth repair, and interspecies communication. His works have been exhibited internationally, from Berlin to Chicago to Munich.

He generously donated this gorgeous piece which he titled, Memory Bowl. Created out of foraged stone, seashell, wild clay, and porcelain, it really is something special.

Michael said, "The outside surface is decorated with all materials gathered and processed by hand, in contrast to the industrially mined materials on the inside; inviting reciprocity to share the form with 'standard' studio practice."
