Description
The certificate entitles the bearer to one-half day of Learn to Surf LA Surf Camp during the upcoming spring and summer season (a $15 seasonal registration fee is included). No additional purchase necessary. If coming for the first time, participant is encouraged to come on a Monday for basics training.
Limitations: Only valid for new families whose children have never participated in Learn to Surf LA’s lessons and camps. Certificates have no cash value, and are only valid for the services outlined, only in the year indicated on the certificate. If participant has not surfed before, it’s recommended they come on a Monday for basic training. Surf camp is for kids aged 6 to 17.
LEARN TO SURF LA HISTORY
Learn to Surf LA has been operating in Los Angeles since 2002. Since then, we have taught thousands of students how to surf, generating in our students as much enjoyment of surfing and appreciation for the ocean as possible. We hold the most desirable permits in Venice, Manhattan Beach, and Santa Monica to teach lessons and conduct surf camp and are consistently rated as the top surf school in Los Angeles.
ABOUT OUR SURF CAMP
Our surf camp is a great way for kids to spend the day playing and relaxing while learning how to handle themselves with confidence in the surf! Surf camp is for all kids ages 6 to 17. We provide an awesome summer experience that will never be forgotten!
Safety is our top priority; all instructors are CPR & First Aid certified, and our maximum student-to-instructor ratio is 5:1 in the water. We provide safe foam surfboards, bodyboards, and full-length wetsuits. We also provide snacks, drinking water, sunblock, and canopies.
Students learn about wave dynamics, ocean safety, currents, side shore currents, paddling out, popping up on a surfboard, board handling, turning, wave selection, positioning and maneuvering, surfing etiquette, and more.
Other camp activities include beach volleyball, beach soccer, Nerf touch-football, dodgeball, Frisbee, body-surfing, swimming, paddling, and sand sculpture. We also provide break times to dry off, rehydrate, and relax or play.

Special Instructions
All orders are subject to a $.50 shipping and handling fee. This fee will be automatically added to your total purchase when the auction closes. Gift certificates will be sent via USPS or emailed if applicable. If you win an item and would like it mailed via certified insured mail, please email auction@friendsofwalgrove.com by March 28, 2025, and we will do so at your expense. If you would like to pick up an item, please contact us by March 28th, otherwise, we will ship your item.
Larger items can be picked up in Los Angeles, CA, or shipped at the winning bidder's expense via USPS Priority Mail. $11 for large envelopes, $21 for medium boxes, $27 for large boxes. Some items do not fit into these categories and you will be notified. We will try to use the smallest package size we can. We will insure packages when shipping; however, Friends of Walgrove is not responsible for items lost in the mail.
Walgrove Community: A pick-up option is available. The pick-up date at Walgrove Elementary is Friday, March 28th, from 8 am to 10 am. The location will be provided for Tuesday, April 1st pick-up from 5-7 pm.
