Description

This piece honoring William Morris beautifully framed in a shadow box was created through the art of quilling.
Quilling has a long history, dating back to the Renaissance and gained popularity again in the 18th and 19th centuries, adorning cards and invitations. Quilling, also known as paper filigree, is an art form where narrow strips of paper are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create intricate designs. The name quilling is believed to come from the early practice of rolling paper around feathers or quills, which were then used to create decorative designs.
