Ben Schnirel, a professional landscape artist for over 30 years, has received many awards, including the prestigious Arts for the Parks national competition winning one of the top 100 places for his painting of Double Arch.

Ben paints and explores the red rock deserts of the Southwest in incredible detail. He translates into oil and acrylic the endless shapes and colors found in the sandstone canyons and mesas. Recently, Ben has been exploring abstracts in a way that is uniquely his with colorful and captivating textures.

Television programs such as 60 Minutes and Good Morning America have featured Ben’s work. Southwest Art and US Art magazine have covered his achievements. Galleries in Park City, Sedona and Colorado have represented his work. He has been commissioned to do several murals and large paintings for corporations, a college, and individual collectors.

Knowledge of geology is evident in his painting, but is transcended by his intimate sense of the spirit of the desert. He raises his interpretive works beyond the level of realism to a poetic view of nature from a more remote period of time.
