Description
"Respect"
Created by Joanna Yan, age 4, this artwork honors one of the most important values that shapes learning and growth: respect. The elegant calligraphy reminds us to cherish the wisdom of teachers and the principles they share, while Joanna’s playful drawing of smiling children holding books reflects the joy that blossoms in an environment of care and understanding. Together, these elements embody the idea that respect builds the foundation for knowledge, friendship, and community.
This piece is part of the Kai Ming Head Start Auction, benefiting a San Francisco nonprofit that serves low-income families with children from three months to five years old. Through her art, Joanna reminds us that respect is more than courtesy—it is a way of valuing others, uplifting voices, and ensuring every child and teacher is seen and appreciated.
By supporting this work, you are helping to nurture futures grounded in respect, where learning flourishes and kindness guides the way.
