The vibrant village of New Paltz is home to a lively music scene, farm-to-table eateries, charming boutiques and cafes, and the SUNY New Paltz campus.  

Visit Mohonk Preserve, the largest private nature preserve in New York. The preserve protects over 8,000 acres of the Shawangunk Ridge and is open to visit sunrise to sunset every day for hiking, climbing, biking, running, horseback riding and nature study. 

Enjoy historic Huguenot Street, a 10-acre National Historic Landmark where your family can experience over 300 years of history across seven historic stone-house museums, a reconstructed 1717 French Church, the Huguenot community’s original burying ground, and a replica Esopus Munsee wigwam. 

Or rent bikes and follow along the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail just off Rosendale and enjoy in invigorating ride before lunch in New Paltz.
