Alessandro Rivetto Langhe Nebbiolo 2019, Serralunga d’Alba

Cellar Tracker 90

“Like nebbiolo...pure, classic, unadulterated nebbiolo. It’s astounding, truly, but you get the red rose and violet florals, the red berries and cherries, the earthy, truffle-y spicebox note, the minty freshness, the tangerine/blood orange pithiness, with a hint of black tea – everything you might find in a classically made Barolo. The weight is delicate, the structure less intimidating, this really is a perfect Nebbiolo! Fresh, bright, and delectable nebbiolo.”  First Bottle

La Massa Toscana 2019, Toscana

Wine Advocate 94:

The 2019 La Massa is 50% Sangiovese and 30% Merlot, with the remaining 20% of the blend Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet. The wine sees mostly stainless steel, although 20% of the total finishes in barrique. It follows that those carefully selected blending elements also contribute to the wine's juicy concentration and black fruit flavors. However, the pretty minerality you sense here and the balanced freshness certainly come from the Sangiovese. This vintage yields tight and linear results. This is a little masterpiece at an affordable price. Drink 2022-2030

Santini Poggio Al Moro 2019, Bolgheri

Tim Sellon:  Sweet dark fruit, licorice and smoke …  fans of big, bold Bolgheri wines will have plenty to fall in love with in Enrico Santini’ssuperb 2019 Poggio al Moro. Wines from Bolgheri rarely display this insanely high level of quality for such a low asking price. Every single Super-Tuscan lover should be all over this.

Tenuta Carretta Roero Arneis Canorei Riserva 2017, Roero, Piedmont

First Bottle:  This is a monopole cru for Carretta and is unlike any other Arneis on the planet. Toast and vanillin with fruit cup and some white flowers, with peaches and cream and butter poached pear. This is very ripe and oily in texture, with more stone fruits and vanilla. Mouth-coating and concentrated with superb length. 12 months on the lees in barrel, and very low sulphur because of all the lees contact. Just a gem of a wine!

Tenuta Sette Cieli Yantra  2019, Tuscany

Wine Spectator  93:

A mouthful of black currant, blackberry, violet, cedar and iron lends immediate gratification in this polished red. Vibrant and balanced, with a long, firm finish that echoes dark fruit and mineral. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2023 through 2035.

Terrabianca Campaccio 2004, Toscana

Wine Advocate 91:

The 2004 Campaccio (70% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals layers of ripe fruit with notable vitality on the palate and enough concentration to stand up to the oak treatment. It offers outstanding length and fine overall balance in a big, bold style that will require a few years to come together in the bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019.
