Classic example of the Chinese art of soapstone carving. Pieces are intricate and beautiful. This beige vase is approximately 8" tall and 6" in width. As soapstone is a soft material, many antique pieces have damage. This particular piece is fairly pristine with a smooth lip and only one surface line/dip in the back. However, one very small piece, primarily visible from the back (really not from the front unless you look hard), has been glued back as seen in photo number 3. In my opinion, it does not detract from this beauty and it is not significantly visible.
