Description

This unique treasure is an exact replica, in dimension and design, of a 13th century pilgrimage badge. In medieval times, pilgrims sewed the medal onto their hat or clothing or wore it around their neck on a leather chain. This fine example of medieval craftmanship was intended for the numerous pilgrims who flocked to Chartres to seek Mary's intercession, many of them on their way to Compostella via Chartres.

The Engraved Pewter Pilgrimage Badge measures approximately 1.75’’ x 1.75’’ and is from Chartres, France. It is paired with 8mm Snowflake Obsidian beads & 8.5mm Stainless-steel Fleur De Lis bead.

According to the maker, the genuine stones are set in Stainless steel wire with the lobster clasp, anti-rust and waterproof; Each bead of this 24 inch (60 mm) crystal necklace comes from nature and made by caring hands.Known as a stone of purity, snowflake obsidian is believed to clear negative energy and bring balance to mind and spirit. Referring to The snowflake obsidian necklace pairs beautifully with the pewter badge, but can be used separately if our lucky winning bidder envisions them used differently.  Therefore the medallion will not be attached to the necklace for shipment so you have the opportunity to use these as you like.

To complete this pilgrimage set, you’ll also receive this special Chartres pilgimage book set, by former Veriditas Board Chair, Lee Matthews.
