Marta Walsh, 12-year-old in Southern California, is invited to live and volunteer in Mission del Pueblo for August 1955 with 7 other soon-to-be 8th grade girls. Her family is skeptical about what she will experience in a Catholic mission. Imagine being 12 and away from home as Marta experiences choices, dilemmas, and discoveries.
