Join your neighbors at North Country School and Camp Treetops for an exclusive farm to forest tour led by a member of their farm team. For over 100 years, this junior boarding school and summer camp located just outside Lake Placid has been blending sustainable agriculture, outdoor education, and hands-on opporuntities in the arts to create meaningful learning experiences for children on its 236-acre campus. This includes a working farm where sutdents and campers get a holistic understanding of the life cycles and the origins of how food systems work and where their food comes from. Furing your tour, you'll explore the working campus farm and forest, where students and campers engage in meaningful activities, including tapping maple trees and collecting sap each spring to create maple syrup. Before you arrive, savor some of that campus-sourced maple syrup over a delicious breakfast of pancakes. This package includes some new kitchen gear, and at the end of your tourn, you'll receive a bag of rich, campus-made compost to nourish your own garden over the summer.
