Description

This is a vintage piece of Evy's work that her family generously donated to the church.

Here is Evy's profile from the Arts and Crafts Show:

I have been working in clay for many years and studied and was on the staff of The Radcliffe Pottery Studio for several of them. So many aspects of clay have attracted me one being that it is such an ancient art form blending practicality and artistry. It offers almost limitless possibilities so I never feel that I have reached the end of what can be explored whether it be form, surface, color, use or uselessness.
The work I am doing now satisfies both the painter in me and the practical side of my nature. Working in clay seems like a perfect metaphor for life: there are happy and unhappy accidents, surprises at every step that lead to new discoveries.
I do mostly one of a kind, hand-built pieces and use various clay bodies. Trying to write about clay and what I do makes it even more evident that I have barely scratched the surface.
