Artist Statement:
The Majestic Mariner was created from my love of repetitive patterns and the beautiful shades of phthalo blues. Hand-cut wooden dowels were soaked with the blue paint. Sanding the dowels revealed how some dowels were stained more than others, thus making the organic and random field of color.
