Born and raised in Newport Beach, CA, Cordell started surfing at the age of 9. At 14, he started competing and was sponsored by Quiksilver at 15. He was so stoked by the opportunities and his passion for surfing was contagious to those around him. He began shaping at 19 and has been doing it ever since.
Over the years he has made boards for surfers such as Tom Curren, Brad Gerlach, Matt Archbold, Dino Andino, Donavon Frankenreiter, Shane Bevan and Mick Campbell. Whether a pro or a beginner, Cordell just loves shaping boards for people.
