This Vintage original 1951 Comic Book, "Classics Illustrated #85" is 74 years old (and in mint-condition).   Perfect for Sea Lovers!  The comic features Jack's London's story, "Sea Wolf" (a psychological thriller originally published by London in 1904).  It follows the story of Humphrey Van Weyden, a literary Critic, rescued by the brutal Captain Wolf Larsen after a Shipwreck.

"Classics Illustrated" was a Comic Series which adapted famous literary works.  The Donor of this item was born in 1942 - and shared that this Comic Book was purchased for him by his Grandparents (when he was 9 years old).  "Classic Comics" was created for Elliot Publishing Company in 1941, originally in 64-page formats until World War II caused paper shortages - and comics were reduced to 56 pages - and then later to 48 pages as the War continued.  In 1951, the origional line-drawn covers were replaced with Painted Covers (and this Issue was among the first).  Publications of "Classics Illustrated" ended in 1962.  This item is available for shipping with insurance - or may be picked up in Enfield, CT for free at the close of the Auction.
