Vintage original 1954 Comic Book, "Classics Illustrated #15" is 70 years old (and in mint-condition).   Perfect for Ocean Lovers!  This issue contains an adaptation of Herman Melville's "Moby Dock".  Cover Art by Louis Zansky depicts the crew of the Peoquod battling the great white Whale.  

"Classics Illustrated" was a Comic Book Series which adapted famous literary works for children.  The Donor of this item was born in 1942 - and shared that this Comic Book was purchased for him by his Grandparents (in 1954, at age 12).  "Classic Comics" was created for Elliot Publishing Company in 1941, originally in 64-page formats until World War II caused paper shortages - and comics were reduced to 56 pages - and then later to 48 pages as the War continued.  In 1951, the original line-drawn covers were replaced with Painted Covers (and this Issue was among the first).  Publications of "Classics Illustrated" ended in 1962.  This item is available for shipping with insurance - or may be picked up in Enfield, CT for free at the close of the Auction.
