A ryggjabtte with stave construction, split twig bands and handmade rope made by Vesterheim Gold Medalist Richard Enstad. A ryggjabtte is a traditional container used to transport stmjlk (fresh milk) or surmjlk (sour milk) from the farm to town. Also used to bring milk down from the summer farm. The lid is decorated with Svidekor (burnt decoration). Container is 2 feet tall and has a diameter of 11 inches.
