Description
This tray is entirely hand carved from a solid piece of local cherry wood by Vesterheim Gold Medalist Kim Glock. The tray is modeled after one found in the Oseberg burial ship in Norway. The ship and its contents were buried in 834 and was excavated in May 1904; it is commonly acknowledged to be among the finest artifacts to have survived from the Viking Age. The tray measures 20 1/4" x 11 1/4" x 2".
