Description

The Restauration Nisse (or Gnome) Family is knitted with Norwegian yarn from the Spinneriet store in Oltedal, by Andrea Streufert as a memory of fun times together on Vesterheim's 2025 Emigration tour to Norway and in honour of the 200th anniversary of the voyage. The bearded Far Nisse has a likeness of the Rastauration ship on his body, together with some birds - the last reminder of home for the travellers. The Mor Nisse with braids has an image of a star within a heart on her boday - a symbol of good luck and love from family members left behind in Norway. Mor Nisse is holding a little gnome Jentebaby Nisse, representing the baby born during the voyage on September 2. Far Nisse is 13" tall and the bottom diameter is 5"; and the Mor Nisse is 17" from the tip of the hat to the bottom, the bottom diameter is 5".

*Note that these gnomes are meant for display purposes and not intended as children's toys.
