Description

Artist: Cassie Horton

Cassie Horton is an elementary art teacher whose passion for art blossomed from personal experiences overcoming a learning disorder. For Cassie, the art room became a sanctuary during challenging times, offering both a place of expression and a path to healing. Inspired by this transformative experience, she is dedicated to creating a similar space of comfort and creativity for her students, where they can find refuge, joy, and self-expression through the arts.

Her favorite medium is acrylic paint, a versatile and vibrant medium that allows her to explore a wide range of subjects. Known for her captivating depictions of dogs, sunsets, nature, florals, and birds, Cassie's work often reflects her deep love for the natural world and animals. Her background includes a unique chapter spent working at the New England Aquarium, an experience that shaped her love for marine life and wildlife. These interests are often woven into her artwork, where the connection between the natural world and her personal artistic journey comes to life.

Through her paintings, Cassie not only expresses her own love for animals and nature, but she also aims to inspire and nurture a sense of wonder and creativity in those around her, especially her students. Her art is a reflection of her journey—one that transforms struggles into beauty and encourages others to see the world through the lens of creativity and compassion.
