Artist: Ellen Davies

I am rediscovering an avocation I once enjoyed many years ago. My work has become more abstract usually with a suggestion of flowers or seascapes. I have been exploring the relationship between abstraction and representational.

 My style is rather unique with its ethereal blend of colors used effectively to subtle portray my favorite subjects. I am more interested in capturing the effects of luminosity than in accurately recording subject seen in light and shadows. By experimenting with new techniques and products I can break free from some old habits and patterns.

 And finally I realize, as with all creative work, there are no hard and fast rules except the ones you make yourself.

 I am a member of many Art association on Cape Cod and very fortunate to have a studio in the 204 building in Harwich MA.

I am also with The Corporate Art Loan Program at deCordova Museum.
