Erphila Dachshund Dog Teapot, a vintage ceramic novelty item produced in Germany between 1945 and 1949. This piece has one tiny chip on his ear.

This rare teapot is in majolica glaze. Even if the model 6703B was produced from the 1920s onwards we know a more precise production date from the bottom stamp "Made in Us Zone Germany". After WWII Germany was divided in four zones of influence between 1945 and 1949.

Marked on bottom: "ERPHILA GERMANY", "MADE IN US ZONE GERMANY" "6703B".

Features a dachshund sitting upright with raised front legs forming the spout and its tail as the handle.  He is primarily black, dark brown, and cream with a brown collar.

Approximately 8 inches tall, 7 inches long, and 3.88 inches wide.
