This original mixed-media artwork by local artist Carol Meckling features one of the iconic "temples" Lawai International Center is known for. The lovingly handcrafted shrine sits solidly along the 88 Shrines pilgrimage path while a shadowed Buddha gazes tranquilly at the visitor from the interior. The scene evokes the humble spirit and sense of serenity that a pilgrim experiences when hiking the path toward their destination. Though the destination may not be revealed until one reaches it, the path is welcoming and clear.

The mixed-media "Lawai International Center #2" is a creative original by Carol. A 12" x 9" wood panel has had an original photo giclee printed onto it and has been subsequently painted with acrylic colors and layered with collage. The piece measures 12" x 9" overall and will be sure to enchant viewers and elicit conversation when displayed in your home.
