This item is a handsome handcrafted bowl made from Java Plum wood, obtained from local craftsman Eric Gerlach's yard in Kalaheo. Java Plum is related to Cherry and is in the same family as Guava and Allspice. The large bowl measures 9 1/2" dia. x 4" ht. and can be used decoratively or as a functional piece.

The images show the subtle, unusual patterning and give an indication of the smooth, sensual texture of the finish. This work of art is part of Eric Gerlach's private collection and he is sharing it with the auction in the hope that it will support LIC into the future for all people.

Every week for years, Eric has been graciously nurturing and caring for the land of the Center: he is an invaluable member of the LIC ohana.
