Description
This unique and sturdy 45" long x 1 1/2" dia. walking stick was skillfully handcrafted by Eric Gerlach from vintage Koa wood, more than 50 years old, which was obtained from Dave Reando's yard in Kalaheo. (Dave is another long-time LIC volunteer). The cedar wood is beautifully patterned and the top of the walking stick is wrapped with black and patterned orange nylon cord for a non-slip grip. A hand loop is incorporated in the grip to ensure easy stick retention.
This fine walking stick can be used as an accent piece in any home and/or it will prove most useful when hiking the many trails Kauai has to offer. It should definitely accompany you when you next walk the 88 Shrines pilgrimage trail!
Every week for years, Eric has been graciously nurturing and caring for the land of the Center: he is an invaluable member of the LIC ohana.
