Description

This remarkable 46" walking stick is a one-of-a-kind creation by Kaua‘i craftsman and artist Dave Reando, carefully handcrafted from macadamia nut wood harvested over 50 years ago. The piece is both functional and artistic, blending natural beauty with meaningful history.

Distinctive Features

Engraved Top & Inlays – The top is decorated with geometric wood-burned designs and light-colored inlays made from wood originally used in the construction of the Lawai International Center Bell Tower.
Macadamia Nut Cap & Bead – Finished with a smooth cap and matching bead, both shaped from macadamia wood grown in Dave’s Kalaheo backyard.
Functional Tip – To ensure stability, the tip is fitted with a small disc cut from a local slipper—durable yet easily replaceable if needed.
Lampwork Glass Beads – A wrist strap accented with handmade lampwork beads from Dave’s studio in Kalaheo. Dave has been crafting glass beads for nearly 20 years, a passion developed during his winters in southern Illinois.

Crafted With Care
The walking stick is hand-oiled, highlighting the warm tones of the macadamia wood and preserving its strength for years to come.

Art & Function Combined
This unique piece serves equally well as a striking home accent or as a trusty companion on the trail. Whether enjoying Kaua‘i’s many hiking paths or embarking on the 88 Shrines pilgrimage trail, it’s designed to support and inspire.
