Inspired by the artist's honeymoon trip to Mexico, these copitas are designed after traditional Mexican mescal dishes. These copitas are crafted with great care: she hand-carves the texture into each cup when it is leather hard. After they are bisque fired, she carefully glazes the interior and exterior separately, hand-painting the rim of each cup to ensure a crisp contrast between the dark interior and the bright white exterior. While they were inspired by mescal, they also make great salt dishes, sauce dippers, prep dishes, catch-alls, or snack dishes for olives and pit discard.
