Description

Good friend to the trail Grant Faller has crafted and donated another beautiful cedar strip canoe.  Here's what Grant has to say about the boat:

"This is canoe #6 . I built it using the offset dimensions for a Willits canoe built out in Spokane, Washington in the mid-20th century . Because of space limitations, I proportionately reduced the length from 17' to 15.5' and the width to 33.5". It weighs about 60 pounds, with one layer of 6 oz. glass over entire exterior and two layers below waterline. The interior has one layer of glass. Depth amidships is 13".

I took it on a trip to the Delaware Bay marshes last fall with NFCT Emeritus Director Ron Canter and let him paddle it solo while I took another. Paddles quite well with one person and a lot of gear or tandem on lakes and gentle rivers."
