Enjoy touring the Race Rock Lighthouse, located at the north entrance to Long Island Sound in Summer 2026!

Join New London Maritime Society for a trip to Race Rock Lighthouse and the opportunity to see inside this unique offshore lighthouse.

For 139 years Race Rock's light has guided mariners through the turbulent waters of the Race in and out of Long Island Sound. First lit in 1878, Race Rock Light was a feat of engineering bravery orchestrated by New London's own Captain T. A Scott. 

Please note that Race Rock is an offshore lighthouse and you might have to balance on the edge of a boat and climb up a ladder to reach the platform.

Tour dates will be determined in May of 2026.
