With this private tour of Port Sanilac lighthouse you’ll get to climb the 50-step tower, then up a ladder to the top of the lighthouse for a panoramic view of the Port Sanilac Harbor and Lake Huron. Inside the base of the light tower is the Fourth Order Fresnel Lens on display from the keepers dwelling. At the tower base there is a small cupboard where the lightkeeper kept supplies and there are museum quality signage panels in the tower to learn about the history of the lighthouse, the Fresnel lens, shipwrecks and the lighthouse keepers.

The lighthouse has helped guide ships and other mariners throughout its entire existence along the Lake Huron shoreline since 1886, and is still an active USCG aid to navigation.
