Melrose Humane Society has been overwhelmed with kitties needing in home end of life care. In the case of Miley, a 12 year old female with multiple growths on her underside.  Miley was taken to our vet who performed surgery.  The pathology report came back positive for breast cancer.  Yes, cats do get breast cancer.  The exact cause of breast cancer is unknown, but being an unspayed female is a major risk factor.
