Saturday, May 14 -- Join John Rowlett, one of the premiere field guides in the United States, guarantees a dozen or more of this rare and beautiful warbler. John will lead you and your group of four on a full morning of birding along the Blue Ridge near Charlottesville, VA. John estimates that at least 18 species of warblers will be seen, including the hooded and Kentucky warblers. He usually can find up to 15 singing, Cerulean males that nest in the area. John Rowlett is a partner in Field Guides Incorporated, the internationally-known bird tour company.

The endangered Cerulean warbler, a neotropical migrant, continues to decline precipitously. Once common in the eastern United States, it is vanishing at an alarming rate. Between 1966 and 1999, the total population dropped 70 percent.
