Description

Moose Mountain Lodge was built as a downhill ski lodge in the late 1930's. In those days, there was a mile-long rope tow and a lighted slope.

The first time Peter and I saw the 100-mile view from Moose Mountain Lodge in the early seventies, we fell in love with it. Looking across the Connecticut River Valley and the Green Mountains from our porch, we know we live in a special place.

We love to share the Lodge with hikers, skiers and those who enjoy the outdoors. We're never happier than when the Lodge is full of people tired and exhilarated from exploring our mountain.

In summer, the pastures are filled with wildflowers, and grazing cows. Guests tour quiet country roads on bicycles, canoe on the Connecticut River, or hike our trails, feasting on wild berries and wide open views.

Peter and I believe the best food is the freshest food. We serve vegetables from Peter's garden and search out fresh ingredients all year round. Our buffet meals which are prepared in our open kitchen, are healthy, delicious and plentiful to welcome guests "home" after an active day.

Many of our guests are return visitors. They find this mix of piney comfort, country quiet and mountain hospitality pleasing.

We're happy to welcome both old and new guests to the Lodge and are delighted to share this bit of New England paradise with you.
