Description
A one-night stay for two is available at this perfect vacation spot in Inverness, California.
You are welcomed with hugs and introduced to the wonders of this wilderness farm reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands. As the only guests, you enjoy the privacy of what was once the children's wing of the Farmhouse.
Dan's en suite room boasts private entrance, wrap-around private decks with ocean and forest views. Dutch doors allow you to enjoy indoors and outdoors as you cuddle beneath fluffy down comforters, lulled to sleep by owl song drifting in from the velvet, star-studded night.
Awaken to the freshness of a country dawn. The farm comes alive as the pet barnyard animals are fed and venture forth to enjoy their day.
To start your day, literally one step outside your door on your private deck, step into a romantic redwood enclosed, stained glass window-enhanced outdoor bath.
Enjoy a hot shower (gigantic shower head) or deep bubble bath (antique claw foot tub). Two may bathe simultaneously.
Don fluffy robes to savor an early morning cup of coffee on your private deck, enjoying the views and the songs of a myriad of birds who come to feed at your porch feeder.
When the spirit moves, cook yourself a hearty country breakfast, accompanied by Nana's scrumptious baked goodies and homemade jam.
Spend a few quiet moments lounging in the garden, enjoying the serenity of the ponds and waterfalls breathing the crisp, clean country air. Read awhile, write in your journal, or open the gate to directly access the 75,000 acres of the Pt. Reyes National Seashore. For spectacular bird watching and a chance meeting with elk or deer, hike Bayview trail to Muddy Hollow and Limantour Beach. In the opposite direction, a quiet stroll on forest and meadow trails will acquaint you with the early morning bush bunnies. The trail joins others so that you may enjoy the breathtaking views from Sky Camp and Mt. Wittenberg, where you often catch a glimpse of deer, elk, fox, bobcat, possum, squirrels, raccoons and chipmunks. Guests enjoy photographing the flora and fauna that abound.
All these pleasures await... just outside your door!
Fairwinds Farm is located between the small quaint western town of Point Reyes Station and the charming villages of Inverness and Olema. Spend afternoons browsing their many fascinating shops and galleries, or visit the Bear Valley Visitors' Center, Historic Pt. Reyes Lighthouse, Morgan Horse Farm, Jack Mason Museum, stopping for lunch as you adventure.
Pt. Reyes National Seashore is an enchanting land of varied delights and topography. Explore long stretches of ocean beaches some with heavy surf. Or, if you prefer there are many quiet coves and secluded beaches along pristine Tomales Bay. Whale watching is at its peak from December to April. The marshes of Tomales Bay are a birdwatcher's paradise year round! In February and March, thousands of elephant seals come to our shores to give birth to their pups. In Spring, meadows of spectacular wildflowers await the hiker and photographer.
Come join us, and witness the splendor!
An hour's day trip will take you to San Francisco, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Bodega Bay and the Napa Valley wine country.
Nearby you may rent horses, kayaks, bikes, or play a round of golf at San Geronimo Valley Golf Course.
When you return you return home in late afternoon, a Tuscan-like light bathes both farm and forest. Pleasant to sit outdoors on your private porch, enjoying an afternoon tea and Nana's homemade snacks, watching the animals return for afternoon feedings.
You will fall in love with the true simplicity of country life.
