Photographs by Vincent Vallarino have sold at Sothebys for up to $9,600.

Vincent Vallarino was born in Austin, Texas in 1953 and grew up in Conway, New Hampshire. He began photographing while attending prep school. In 1971, he studied photography with Minor White and Stephen Gersh in Boston, Massachusetts. In upstate New York, Vincent apprenticed under Paul Caponigro and Michael Hoffman, publisher of Aperture.

From 1985 to 1987 Vincent operated Light Gallery in New York City which was one of the most renowned photographic galleries in the world. He co-founded the Greenwich Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut specializing in 19th and early 20th century American and European paintings. For the past few years Vincent has been photographing still lifes of unusual and exotic flowers.
