Can Vendrell Chardonnay/Xarel-Lo 2003

This unique blend combines 40% Chardonnay with 60% of the native Spanish grape Xarello to deliver an inordinately clean and refreshing wine thats perfect for the warmer months of summer. The wine leads off with a scintillating nose of citrus, honeysuckle and slate followed by a brisk palate of assorted ripe melon, orange zest and tropical fruits. Vegan

Eco-Pioneers Josep Maria and Toni Albet i Noya descend from four generations of wine growers.

In 1978 they became the first winemakers in Spain to adopt organic practices. They use traditional methods of wine formation on the 13th century estate in the Penedes Region, such as Goblet pruning, while for trained vines, the Expaler or Royat System is used. The grapes are always hand harvested, then taken in small panniers to a narrow, shallow trailer ensuring that the fruit arrives safely to the cellar with no danger of crushing.

These traditional methods maintain the balance of the vines and produce healthy grapes with no alteration the aromatic components o the fruit, taste or texture.
