Using nontoxic bases, John Masters has developed his own line of hair-care blends, facial creams and cleansers from essential oils, plant extracts, and health-food staples like organic apple-cider vinegar.

Masters spends months developing his products with chemists and herbalists. Most ammonia-free, clay-based hair dyes are imported from Italy as they aren't distributed in the United States.

The John Masters Salon located in SoHo, New York City, promotes these and many other chemical-free products. Anne Heche and Sarah Jessica Parker are regulars.
