Description

SIGNED BY AUTHOR. All three books by Laura Dassow Walls, each in a different
way developing the closeness of literature and natural science in the
two American authors who fought the hardest to prevent the separation of
literature and science into today's "Two Cultures."

Seeing New Worlds
was the first book to read Thoreau in the context of natural science;
Material Faith: Thoreau on Science collects the most provocative of
Thoreau's meditations on science; and Emerson's Life in Science: The
Culture of Truth inquires into the ways that Emerson used science to
structure his most basic thinking about the relationship between man and
nature. All three books will be personally autographed by the author.
